Peek-A-Boo Pillowcase

Peek-A-Boo Pillowcase

Our living room needed a little something and I just don’t have time to make a new sofa slipcover, nor will I spend the money to buy a new one. So the next best thing was to create some new covers for the throw pillows with materials I had in my stash, ta da, the peek-a-boo pillowcase – that’s okay, my husband doesn’t like the name either.

Materials needed:

(1) 25” X 25” piece of fabric – my pillow is 23” x 23” and I wanted a 2” seam allowance
(2) 25” X 20” pieces of fabric – I want there to be overlap on the back side of the pillow case

Additional items –
Thread
Sewing machine
Iron

On the (2) 25” X 20” pieces of fabric, create a double folded 1” seam, creating a 25” X 18” piece of fabric

With right side up, lay out the 25” X 25” piece of fabric. With the hemmed edges towards the center of the pillow case, line up the long edges of the fabric

Sew a 2” seam all the way around the pillow case, back stitch to re-enforce the opening on the back of the pillow case where we will be inserting and remove the pillow.

Turn pillowcase right side out and insert pillow into opening
